I'm trying to build the second beta of FF 4.0 to peek the new look and
feel, and to provide feeback. I have built FF before.
I have a clone of the http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/
repository. My working copy is the tag FIREFOX_4_0b2_RELEASE:
manu@pavla:~/src/tests/mozilla/mozilla-central$ hg up
FIREFOX_4_0b2_RELEASE
The contents of my .mozconfig are:
manu@pavla:~/src/tests/mozilla/mozilla-central$ cat .mozconfig
mk_add_options MOZ_OBJDIR=@TOPSRCDIR@/../objdir-ff-4-release
ac_add_options --disable-tests
ac_add_options --enable-dbus --enable-official-branding
ac_add_options --enable-gnomeui --enable-gnomevfs --enable-libxul
ac_add_options --enable-application=browser
I'm on Ubuntu 10.04 amd64.
Building works ok. However, when I run the binary I get the old look
and feel (ie. tabs are not above the awesome bar). I even created a
new profile for testing purposes to keep my working profile as clean
as possible.
Do I have to modify my .mozconfig to get the new look and feel
working?
Thanks and best regards,
Manuel.
I believe the default for tabs-on-top has only changed on Windows
and Mac so far (and for Mac maybe after beta 2?).

Are there any plans to make this available on Linux as well?
Manuel.
It's already *possible* to switch to tabs-on-top: right click on
the tab strip or toolbar, and choose "Tabs on Top".
I believe there are plans to switch the default for Linux as well,
but somebody in dev-apps-firefox is much more likely to know for
sure.
