Dear all,

I found this nice page in my Twitter timeline (hi Paul!):
http://paulrouget.com/gaia/

I wish we could use something similar to get a Gaia home page. I think
it'd be a nice demo, and it would be an easy way to follow the progress
we make on the UI side — especially if this demo can be sync'ed with the
github repository.

Of course, such a home page would require a recent version of Firefox to
work, but I guess we could default to an image gallery for other browsers.

Thoughts?

You should fix it upstream and do a pull request :)

Fabien, (+clee)

This is partly a marketing/branding issue.

B2G finally has a home on the Mozilla web site (albeit a minimal and
presumably temporary one) here http://www.mozilla.org/b2g/

I'm not yet clear on whether Gaia will have its own consumer facing brand,
separate from B2G (or whatever B2G is renamed to) and therefore whether it
should have its own web site.

Perhaps we need a section on the B2G web site about Gaia, a Gaia site of
its own or just to improve the Gaia wiki page (wiki.mozilla.org/Gaia), I'm
not sure.

Any thoughts on this Chris?

Hi all,

Some clarification here:

B2G (Boot to Gecko) is the project name and will continue to be the project name moving forward
The Marketing team is working on a 'product' name that will be the user-facing brand for the B2G platform + the Gaia front-end
Gaia is the project name for the Mozilla-designed front end for the B2G platform
Partners can:
Build their own fully custom front-end interface on top of the B2G platform
Build a custom front-end interface and take components/pieces from Gaia (i.e. Browser/Marketplace/etc.)
Take Gaia as-is with Mozilla's branding and default set of core apps
Take Gaia with Mozilla's branding, default set of core apps and request specific apps to be pre-loaded

Hope that provides some context on the current thinking around the product name and potential offerings. This is work-in-progress and will continue to evolve as we gather new requirements and firm up the project schedule.
