Hello,

I just released an update of a small thunderbird extension useful for
bugzilla users : it adds a small bumail par to the header pane and
fetches the current status of the bug you're looking at.

Get it at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/9584

Enjoy !

Hi Fabrice

This looks really nice. It will certainly help with some of my mail
triage (especially when I'm looking at mis-filed bugs and they've
already been moved elsewhere).

Thanks

Nice! Does it work with SeaMonkey (2) as well?

I didn't try, shame on me ;-)

It overlays messageWindow.xul and messenger.xul, and looking at http://
mxr.mozilla.org/seamonkey/source/mail/base/content/messageWindow.xul I
think that this should work.

I'll keep you updated !

Highly recommended. I've been using v1.0 for several days, and Fabrice
has incorporated several of the suggestions we discussed, including
caching. Fabrice, thanks for the update!

Question - what is the cache life?

Some nits below...

1. it would be cool if "bugs nnnn, nnnn, nnnn" all get linked

2. A single bug nnnn is sometimes not linked. examples: Bug 246398
comment 17, Bug 372515 comment 1. In some cases it only links if you
first visited the *previous* message in the thread pane. In other words:
visit msg3, then uparrow msg2 it's not linked; but visit msg1 downarrow
to msg2 it is linked. Another example is Bug 372515 as msg2 in a list of
4 bugmails - visit msg4 then click msg2 it is linked; but do msg1 then
msg2 or msg3 then msg2 and it isn't linked. Capitalization of the word
"Bug" may be a factor in some cases.

3. More commonly lists of bugs are not linked. Unpredictable, but
normally only first bug is linked. Sometimes none. Sometimes the middle
one in a list. Examples (Fabrice, I can send them to you if you need.)

a) Bug 358813 comment 4, Bug 252753 comment 10, Bug 252753 comment 11,
Bug 88567 comment 11
"similar bugs: bug 392373, bug 354981, bug 345218"

b) bug 206435 comment 11

"similar bugs, possibly to dupe:
bug 270375
bug 343132
bug 315702
bug 233897

related?
bug 329699
bug 343132"

Thanks for this extension ! It's really great. Little wish - will be
nice if extension can replace Bug # text to bugzilla link, also comments
same way, just like Bugzilla does.

Me too: great extension! And I'd also like to have "bug #" turned into a
link to that bug.

Additionally, it would be great if the link's tooltip would show the
title (i.e., the bug's summary).

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4pre) Gecko/20090906
SeaMonkey/2.0pre - Build ID: 20090906022603

According to experiments I did tonight, Bugmail 1.5 (but not 1.6 or
1.6.1) work with this Sm nightly if extensions.checkCompatibility is set
to false. (I tested it only with bugmail from bugzilla.mozilla.org -- at
the moment I don't have other bugmail on this computer.)

Only in Bugmail 1.5 (didn't test earlier versions with this nightly) do
I see a pale-yellow banner between the Message window (or tab) chrome
and content, with Product / Component | STATUS RESOLUTION | Assignee,
and at far right an [ Update ] button.

Best regards,
Tony.

Bug Id Helper is another good extension - somewhat better than bryan's
very nice Bugzilla Link Grabber

Oh wow, that is nice! Mine is so clunky compared to that.
