Maybe Mozilla could fix the Lightning incompatibility issue. I lost my
calendar, unless I go back to TB2

The nightly versions of Lightning (1.0pre) do work in TB 3.

I simply used the Nightly Tester Tools extension to force install Lightning.

Now if I could only get my two favorite extensions to work, that being Quote Collapse and TB Change From and FCC on Compose to work. Speaking of the latter does anybody know where Frank Dilecce is. The Visit Home Page link for that later extension yields a 404. I find TB Change From and FCC on Compose incredibly useful but it hasn't been updated for a long time and has developed some bugs. I'd love to get Frank to fix it or perhaps attempt to take on that extension myself.

I said "NO" to drugs, but they didn't listen.

Pretty sure TB RC1 + latest Lightning messes up local calendars. Remote
calendars work fine

Perhaps. I don't have any local calendars anymore...

Yes, I think it would be local calendars. What I did was uninstall TB3,
reinstall TB2, then download and install Sunbird and export calendar
from Lightning to Sunbird.

I then uninstalled TB2 and reinstalled TB3. Mind you I did a reboot
between uninstalls and installs.

I notice alredy TB3 starts faster and the new message dialogue box
starts faster too!! :)

Nope.

I can confirm this problem. Thunderbird 3 RC1 with latest Lightning
Nightly. Google Calendars work fine, Local calendars don't load. Error:

There have been a few bugs being worked on in the last days affecting
updating from Lightning 0.9 to "1.0prebeta", e.g.

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=529853
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=530842

Fixes have been checked in, and should be in today's nightly. I
recommend using this extension to get the latest builds of Lightning and
(if configured to do so) the Google Calendar Provider:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/4623

That being said, I'm running nightlies of Thunderbird 3 and Lightning
with Google Calendar for months, and can assure you that it's not broken!

Seems like the answer is here - it works for me anyhow...
