virtual folders not working anymore

Virtual Folders (both search and smart) don't work for me anymore
(couple of weeks).

I've been having trouble with virtual folders myself:

Sorry for not being clear.
The problem is that whenever I click on a virtual folder on the left
folder pane, the thread pane is shown empty or the summary view from the
previosly selected account is mantained. Addotionally, one error as
shown below appears on the error console:

Newly created search folder shows no problems. Maybe profile is
corrupted? Do Search/Smart Folders have some cache to delete or recreate?

Deleting everything in Mail/smart folders and the files in Mail/Local
Folders related to affected search folders, seems to have resolved the
problem.
Non working files where all dated 2009-10-31.
No more errors on the console.

Virtual folders feature is usable for me if I use the preview pane, it's just that double-clicking or
using menu (open message in a new tab) that shows blank tabs or a blank window.
I even tried a different profile with no extensions and vopied my inbox there. Same symptom, blank tab.

I had thought to try removing localstore.rdf but if you've just
created a new profile, it would be useless
