With almost any release it is very difficult to give a firm schedule.
With this one we had delays fixing the remaining blockers which pushed
the release out.
We are currently performing our normal QA testing on the proposed RC1
build to ensure that there are no serious issues and the builds are
generally in a good state for release as candidates.
At the moment there are a few issues that may cause us to have a second
RC 1 build produced, but that is not certain yet.
Depending on that we'll probably release RC 1 this week or next.

Ah, OK. I know it's hard to pin a date on these things -- it wasn't so
much the delay as the lack of information about it. I'm sure there
aren't *tons* of nerds like me waiting on the edge of our seats, but
there are a few!
Is this Google Group the best place to get the latest news?
(Appreciate all your hard work!)
It's one of the good ones. Others being the thunderbird-tester mailing
list and the weekly status meeting page.
