Hey!

For TB 2 I developed an extension, which adds new toolbar buttons and menu
items and they have icons (png-Files). But using this add-on on TB 3 (RC1 +
RC2) the toolbar buttons and menu items are also created, but without the
icons! Did someone have got similar experiences with this behaviour?

Thank you in advance

PS: I also created therefore a bugreport (Bug 531795).

How did you added the buttons to the toolbar? Did you checked the
"Customize" to see if your buttons are offered for d&d?
I remember installing TB3 will reset the toolbar to default definition,
AFAIK.

The extension itself adds the buttons to the toolbar. Of course, after
installing the extension the user has to customize the toolbar to add the
new toolbar buttons from the new installed extension manually. And in the
customize-dialog and after adding the new buttons to the toolbar they were
added; but without the icons (png-files) as defined in the extension.

... and you are sure you switch to "Icon and text" or "Icon" .. or, not
having the option set to "Text only"??

Yes, I am sure. I tested it again with this options. But without the
expected result: The toolbar buttons and menu items of my extension did not
have icons.
However the default toolbar buttons e.g. for creating a new message have
their icon and text.

Only the items in my extension has got theses problems; but only with TB 3.
In TB 2 it works fine! From there I assume it is a problem in TB 3 and not
in my extension.

I don't think so. We have buttons which are added to the main toolbar
but also to the 'Compose' toolbar. And all works fine with TB2 and TB3
as well.
Have a look at https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=1191

Have you packaged your extension in a jar file and not updated the path
to the image files for the buttons?

Just a thought.

Thank you for taking time to help me fixing my problem with my extension!

I found the problem:
I was using another path than 'skin' were the icons were. As I adjusted the
path to 'skin' and moved the icons there all worked fine - icon and text
were displayed on my created toolbar buttons and menu items fine! Also in TB
2 and TB 3.

Thank you again for bringing me up to the solution ;-)

Thank you for your help.
But the problem was another: I had the wrong path for loading the icons
defined.
