I really don't remember who formulated this "vision" statement, but it surely has a blindspot.
And that is _HTML Composition_ and rendering.
Besides the fact that the html editor has not changed significantly in almost 8 years,
common usage for reply/forward seems to have been affected adversely in TB3.
I don't think anybody can deny the fact that html email is becoming more common in everyday usage.
(like it or not)
So how has TB3 responded to that fact:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=514265
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=536797
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=535816
It's pretty clear that HTML users quickly come to the conclusion that there is no interest in improving the
situation. They either go back to a previous version of TB, or simply go to a different mail client.
This comment says it all IMO. The conclusion is that Tb dev doesn't care, doesn't want, or thinks that HTML mail
is an edge-case in the user base. This is a very real blindspot, and indeed simply embarrassing.
