What I think he means by "on record" is simply that it's not only been
stated more than once in the dev TB groups that there is no interest by
the current open-source community but also by the lack of including the
feature ever since there was a TB and that it even goes back to the
Navigator/Communicator days as well. It has also been stated in the dev
groups that "if you want the feature then you do it". Since you archive
groups it shouldn't be all that difficult to resurrect a few, 'eh?
The addons community doesn't seem to be interested either. There was a
RFE bug entered on it but I can't seem to find it at the moment.
I'm going to set a followup and cross-post this in
m.dev.apps.thunderbird and maybe see what can turn up. Maybe we'll get a
definitive answer for once.

No, it still marked as "New" but not assigned. I just posted a comment
in the bug questioning why it has not been marked as "WontFix" after 9+
years of non-activity. The issue needs to be resolved as WontFix or need
someone to take the reins and add it in. This constant regurgitating of
the issue is non-productive. Either "sh**" or get off the pot!! :-D
Better to leave it as "new" as it is a valid request.

Always better to reference the specific bug you are talking about.
There are hundreds of "new" bugs that have not been addressed for one reason or another.
"new" does not imply that there is someone willing to correct the issue.

How long does it take?? 9+ years is a bit excessive don't you think?
I didn't know the bug existed until after I made the post.
