Hello, in thunderbird2, in the folder tree, the name of the folder,
number of unread messages, total message and size is displayed, but in
thunderbird 3 it does n't, since I am blind, and love My screen-reader
reads this to me, so is there any add-on or setting by which I can
restore this functionality?
another thing: what is the smart folder, all of my mails seems to live
there for now.

Hello Jitendra,
This feature was removed from Thunderbird 3, but can be restored with
this extension:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/9716
