Newsgroup corruption / crashes

I have been experiencing significant problems with Newsgroups with TB3
RC2. Setting a group to Threaded view and applying the Unread message
filter frequently crash TB. I am also having major issues with
duplicated messages in some newsgroups, apparently due to index
corruption since the problem temporarily goes away if the index is rebuilt.

Crash Report Helper shows this issue as being related to Bug 530044.

Anyone know if this will be fixed for the 3.0 release? It seems this
issue is not marked as blocker.

It won't be fixed for the TB 3.0 release, especially as we've haven't
got clear information on how it is happening yet. It is flagged for
potentially blocking a point release (one of the security & stability
update).

Your best bet is to see if you can help David Bienvenu (who's already
been looking at that bug) to debug your issue.

Fwiw, I've had the same issue. Unsubscribing from the group - restarting
TB - re-subscribing has effectively fixed the issue here. So far so good
anyway.
