pas la nouvelle version de mozilla firefox dans les "mises à jours
disponibles" j'ai déjà la version 3.5.5 et il me semblerait qu'il y en
ait une autre d'après les actualités informatiques et high tech que je
reçois

I like the sketch overall and hope that keyboard accessibility is
similarly flushed out. I particularly like how some programs (WMP for
one) display the menu (in this case it would be the button dropdown)
when pressing then releasing the alt key and that sub-menus can be
accessed directly in the same way as if they were top level menus which

I has installed TB3.0 and Fx3.6 for testing, both with their respective
profile(3.0 and 3.6), TB2.0 and Fx3.5(2.0 and 3.5)
Initially i set Fx3.6 the default browser, made a batch of testing and
then revert the default browser to 3.5.
My keyboard have multimedia keys, between them a [Mail] and [Home](not

I have installed Fx3.6 to made a serie of tests, one of them was set
Fx3.6 the default browser, start once with the 3.0 profile for made the
default profile to use and star using the home key(multimedia keyboard,
not the other home key) from the keyboard.
After that in Fx3.6 i unselect the item to test Fx3.6 the default

Just a thought, the Opera 10.10 browser has a option to remove the
menu bar and use their own app menu. I belive that it is an option in
the context menu on the menu bar. At least it was in the beta. I
haven't tested the final version. Anyway, it looked a lot like what
you where thinking about here.

...a rule true of normal menus too, of course :-)
Unless you seriously reduce the number of menu items over the total we
have now, what you are basically doing is adding an extra level of
indirection - instead of your first choice being from the list of seven
choices along the menu bar, you bring down the one menu, and then choose

Hmm. Why wouldn't that be possible? It's all just code :-)
Seriously, if a user pulls down a menu, that's where their focus is. Why
not use more of the screen? If the sub-menus were spatially separate
from the main menu, tied by arrows, you might avoid the cognitive burden
of having more options to choose from...
