Hi!

Dunno if this is the right place for my concern - if not feel free to bump me into the right direction :)

I heard that within FF19 there's an integrated PDF Viewer function - great! Didn't check it out so far but related to this I've got an request and/or idea:

We use Firefox for our touchscreen Point of Sale stations. We've got an web application which creates a pdf from a configured product. So far we use Adobe Acrobat 7 (seven!) because that old version still got a feature:

The generated PDF has an order implemented (generated) which orders the Acrobat PDF Viewer to directly print the generated PDF. So from within our application the customer just presses a "print" button - the application generates a PDF which is beeing loaded in a new background opened tab and from there directly printed out - perfect!

Of course such an auto-print feature should be disabled by default and only be activated via about:config or whatever but it would save us from the need of using old Adobe Acrobat. Besides we run into problems with the plugin-check system of Firefox using that old version.

Adobe removed that auto-print feature afaik in general from Acrobat because it was enabled by default and people started doing bad things with that command: Published PDFs in the internet with 999 printing orders and such stuff. So the feature itself is great but needs to be handled carefully.

Thanks for considering and feedback!

Regards, Frank
