Low Memory error

I have Google Chrome with 7 tabs open and Firefox 3.5 tells me it
could not conclude a transaction (loading 1 facebook page) because of
a "low memory" situation. Why should it be "low memory"? That's the
very first time my laptop has told me the 'memory' is low.

Perhaps because Chrome is guzzling up all the memory of your system? I
suggest to close Chrome before trying to use Firefox.
