I'd need to know if it exists a workaround to bug 453639:

I stumbled upon it while writing an extension, and this is preventing
me from going any further... any insights would be greatly

After talking to Mossop on IRC he found out that actually it is a dupe
(https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318493). The problem
remains, though.
