Subject: Current Places Expiration algorithm
Hey guys,

I'm interested in the Places expiration algorithm currently used in
Firefox. I've found this page: https://developer.mozilla.org/En/Places_Expiration
However, it points to a non-existing source file as well as mentions
some preferences that don't exist in my Nightly nor in my Firefox.
(I'm willing to update that page, by the way!)

Could someone point me to a document or source file that shows how the
expiration algorithm currently works? I'm particularly interested in
the expiration algorithm for history entries, and how the number of
history entries affect the memory usage and speed of Firefox.

Thanks in advance!

http://blog.bonardo.net/2010/01/20/places-got-async-expiration is a blog
entry that explains the change. That entry links to various further
information, and from there you should be able to find the right bits of
the source. There's further discussion in the blog comments.

If there's "proper" documentation, I also can't find it...

If the MDC article is incorrect, someone of you guys should edit and
correct it, at least making it point to that blog post, better
integrating the knowledge from there.

I've updated the documentation, sorry for it being so old!
