The home button is an ordinary toolbar button. If it's not displayed on
one of your toolbars, go to "View->Toolbars->Customize" and look for it
in the palette of available items. Or just hit the "Restore Default Set"
button at the bottom of the palette window.
You should be able to place it anywhere you want. If you drag it to the
bookmarks bar, it will get the nice horizontal orientation with the text
on the right side.
Restoring the default set is a bit extreme, though I've done the equivalent
often enough for corrupt toolbars. Simply drag "home" button from the bookmarks
bar back to the navigation bar through customize. If the bookmarks bar
is not displayed you won't see it, nor would you see it in the customize
dialog if it is assigned to a toolbar. Anyway those not testing will not have
had to be bothered by that experiment, logical grouping based in internals.
In other words FIXED, will be the same as it always, but with weird blue roof.

HTH,
David McRitchie, extensions I use are briefly documented on my site
Firefox Custom: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/firefox/firefox.htm
Also note that people who started using Firefox 3 with Beta 5 or after
will have the home button back on the toolbar by default. It's been
restored to that default set.
cheers,
mike
