Firefox 3.0.3 does not save settings upon restart

Today (10-14-208) after v3.0.3 was updated, most add-ons would not
save the current settings upon a firefox restart. This also includes
firefox. The homepage, font size, download folder all get reset. The
theme does not load though no error is shown. This is a bit
annoying. I had Firefox set to update automatically, so I am not sure
if I can go back to the previous version.
