How do you transfer bookmarks to another computer...in the new 3.5
version

In the old version it was easy as the bookmarks were in HTML and
easily transferred but in new version it is in some kind of data base
format

thank you

Go to the Bookmarks menu, select "Organize Bookmarks".

In one of the menus (not sure which platform you are on), you'll see a
choice called "Backup". This will save a file that you can move to the other
computer and "Restore" there.

If you want to keep bookmarks in sync across several computers, there's a
cool new add-on called Weave Sync that will do it automatically for you and
continue to keep them updated. You'll need to install it on both of the
computers:

Thanks Alex

saving a backup in version 3.5 gives me a file i don't know how to
handle JSON file...from new version its some sort of database file

Anyway I think I may have now figured it out.....just take the Firefox
profile folder from old PC and paste it to new PC in same location and
that seems to work...as long as both the win 7 machine and the xp
machine have the exact same name of the profile (ovway429.default)
then it seems to work

Alex actually told you what to do with the JSON file: start Firefox on
the new machine, go to the Bookmarks Library, select "Restore->Choose
File..." from the "Import & Backup" toolbar menubutton...

PS: In the future it would be cool if you'd send your questions about
Firefox USAGE (compared to DEVELOPMENT) to mozilla.support.firefox ;)
