At least on my Mac, the Paste command in the Edit menu is greyed out.
I can copy, but I can't paste. So it's straight back to Safari for me.
I need this feature for my daily work. In some ways Firefox is a
lovely browser, but if this can't be fixed I'm outta here.

Try to create a new profile or start up in "safe mode"1 and see if you
cannot paste. It might be a profile/extension problem.

I can't paste either. I am on a MAC and it used to work fine to
paste, but since Firefox upgraded that ability has gone
away...........
