Calendar is showing multiple copies for annual events on same day

I subscribe to several iCal calendars that show repeating events (e.g.
[1]). For some reason, many (all?) of them are showing multiple copies
of the same event (e.g. Christmas School Vacation is shown 11 times on
22.12.2012).

A related issue seems to be that when I page to the Next Week (in Week
View), I only see the copies of these events and not all my other events
(incl. non-repeating events and events from my CalDAV calendars).

Is there a bug I could follow until this is fixed?

Is your problem transitional? I frequently saw a similar problem: I'd
get multiple copies of events (any event, not only annual events) just
after I subscribed to a (Google) calendar. But as soon as I update an
event or when I restart Thunderbird, the problem goes away.

I have filed a bug of it, in case somebody is free to debug it:

Restarting Thunderbird does not fix the problem.

BTW: I think the replies in these newsgroups are supposed to be
bottom-posted or interspersed (but not top-posted).

I've just tried fixing this by deleting an iCal calendar (US Holidays).
Strangely, the duplicate entries for that calendar did *not* go away. I
then recreated the calendar and the duplicate entries *are* still there. :-(

What is wrong with Lightning[1]?

Well, with the current nightly builds, this problem has vanished. :-)

I wished someone could have responded to this thread last month, so I
would have known it was a bug and not something in my setup. It would
have saved me a lot of time.
