Hi there!

If you've been following Planet Mozilla, you've probably read about the
landing of TraceMonkey, the new JavaScript Just-In-Time (JIT)
compilation that is going to make execution of JS much much faster.

I've done some testing, and found that when JIT is turned on in the
about:config editor, the Dojo treeview example does not work yet. The
TreeView does not appear, even visually, so this is not specific to
a11y. I filed bug 451843
<https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=451843> on this issue.

I'm sure all these quirks will be ironed out over the course of the next
few weeks.

I just wanted to give you a heads-up in case you're eager to test.

This JIT technology has the great potential to bring many more apps to
the browser from the classical desktop environment, and I'm just glad we
already have the technology in place to help make these future web apps
accessible!

Hi Marco,

This is fantastic news (except for the dojo part). My gut reaction is
to wonder if more of the C++ Mozilla code base could move to the more
fashionable JavaScript in the near future.

Thanks for catching the dojo bug.

cheers,
David
