Pune MozCafe

[Sayak Sarkar]

Hey Guys,

We are planning a MozCafe on Sunday, the 6th of May for all volunteers and
Reps from in and around Pune. We will be discussing about the future
activities/events which could be organized in and around Pune in the
upcoming months.

Also as discussed in the last meetup, we would also be focusing on the
creation of a possible Pune Mozilla group to enable better interaction and
communication between all volunteers in Pune. The group would be formalized
so that all volunteers can be more actively involved and work together on
all Mozilla related activities.

The venue for the MozCafe has been primarily decided to be Cafe Coffee Day,
Koregaon Park or at Barista, F.C. Road depending on the the preference of
the attendees. If anybody has a better venue in mind, feel free to let us
know.

Hey Saurabh,

Sure that can be done as well if its convenient for everyone. We still
haven't decided on the timings but maybe a late afternoon/evening meetup
would be convenient for everyone given the summer heat in Pune.

Hey Shirish,

We just wanted to meet up in person with volunteers and Reps from Pune in
an informal way. As this event has been planned in a very short period of
time, I'm afraid we won't be having any sponsorship this time.

Also, the exact time and locations have not yet been finalized. We wanted
to get an idea of where it would be most convenient for all first. We would
finalize the meetup location in this thread by Friday based on the
convenience of all attendees.

Good. My point was that make it explicit so people know what to expect
otherwise people may have some expectations. Have some idea as to what
time to what time it would be (even if it's informal) that way people
can plan things.

One thing as well, may I suggest use either in-line replying or bottom
replying. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posting_style

It makes reading far far easier. I prefer interleave or in-line reply
style (think of it as a phone conversation)

Hey Guys,

The timings of event has been primarily planned as 4.30pm - 7pm. However,
since it may not be convenient for all to reach within 4.30pm, hence we
have kept a buffer time of half an hour as we plan to start the discussions
by 5.00pm.

Also, since the event has been planned in a very short time period, we
would not be having any sponsorship for the expenses. We were primarily
planning to share it, as a a cup of coffee for each is all that we need.
However, if the event goes awesome, and there are too much expenses, then
we can file a budget request.

The venue of the event will also be finalized within this Friday, i.e. the
4th of May based on the result of the poll [1] at the Facebook page [2] for
the event.

Hey Guys,

As per the polls at the Facebook page and the suggestions in the Google
form, it is thus concluded that Barista at F.C. Road would be the most
feasible location for the MozCafe this Sunday. Hence, the final details for
the event are as follows:-

Event: MozCafe Pune
Location: Barista, F. C. Road, Pune
Time: 5.00pm - 7.00pm

(Since we would like to start the discussions from 5.00pm itself, it is
advisable to be present at the location at least 15 minutes prior to the
start.)

The main agenda for the day would be:-

1.Future activities/events in and around Pune.
2. Creation of a Formal Pune Mozilla group

Also everybody is welcomed to share their own ideas and suggestions
regarding topics that we may have missed in this thread, and are needed to
be done.

Hi Guys,
what's the status on this ? where are we all meeting ?
I would still suggest cafe Aroma at koregaon park as u know FC road is jam
packed and too much crowd on weekend. I am more interested in open
environment where we can talk without too loud noise around and plan
something real.

Mozillians,

Although quite a lot people has shared their wish to join in the event, as
it happens most of them got busy in semester/exams for the time being &
prefers it to have later when they are free.

So, unfortunately we are having to postpone the event - I have taken care
of calling up to notify the handful people who were all set to join us -
thanks to them. We will have Pune meet sometime soon.

Hey Guys,

Due to unavoidable circumstances many of the prospective attendees cannot
be present today, and have expressed their wishes to postpone the event for
a later date.

Hence, we are postponing the event for a later more convenient date. We
have already taken care of calling up to notify the people who had
registered for the event.

We will be have the Pune meet sometime soon. Till then, keep an eye on the
facebook page/this thread, for further developments.
