Hello Folks,

We could also consider the benefits of having some community Drumbeat
projects rolled out as
independent drupal sites or as a sites in a multi-installation of
drupal instead of being managed
inside a single installation of drupal using organic groups.

One obvious benefit of the multi-installation approach would be that the
a community
mozilla Drumbeat project if it wanted full autonomy to picks its own
drupal modules , etc ..
could then be easily migrated elsewhere.

I quite like the idea of mozilla Drumbeat spinning out independent
community projects and
retaining a core Drumbeat website with minimal numbers of incubated
projects.

If there's the potential for affiliated Drumbeat sites then all the more reason to go with drumbeat.org instead of something like drumbeat.mozilla.org, so that you could have foo.drumbeat.org and bar.drumbeat.org sites.
