Hi all, following is an email about a Toronto specific event, but the group
putting it on
http://sharewebmaking.org seems to be Mozilla-wide. So if
you're in Toronto please sign up for this event and if you're not in
Toronto sign up anyway and hopefully you can get a similar event going in
your area!

Dear Toronto Hackers, Webmakers and Educators,
We're looking for volunteers to help with a special event Mozilla is
hosting in just a few weeks -- the Toronto Teacher

held last month, this event will help us build the webmaking community
in Toronto, but this time we want to *teach the teachers*, and think about
how to get webmaking skills into the classroom at all levels. So we're
running a day-long event with workshop sessions for teachers, volunteer
instructors, and other people who want to help kids learn to hack. Each
session will teach or demo a webmaking/hacking activity to use in the
classroom. We'll focus on tools and projects that can integrate as
seamlessly as possible with the curriculum -- bringing webmaking into class
without displacing the content you need to teach.
You're getting this email because you've helped us before, or expressed
interest in making Toronto one of the best places in the world for kids to
learn how to hack. Can you help us now? Here's some ways you can make this
an even better event:
- *Lead a Workshop*. We have some great workshops lined up already, but
we need one or two more. If you've led a classroom hacking or webmaking
activity, why not share it with other teachers?
- *Assist a Workshop Leader*. This is a hands-on learning experience, so
the more helpers we have the better. Let us know if you'd like to help
with one of the activities!
- *Spread the Word*. Let your friends and colleagues know about this
event -- it's a rare chance to learn from some excellent webmakers!
- *Come on Down*. Join us on May 5th! We're trying to build a community
of webmaking instructors -- we need your involvement.
- *Join the Online Community*. Even if you can't make it to the event,
join our list of webmaker instructors at
