Ideally we just plan it on the mailing list, but depending on the month and
the activity we should have a point person. It can be you if you're up to
it, or you and me (since I have more time than jlin).
What's the topic for the next derby? let's figure out who makes sense to
approach to be the special guest and go from there.

The website says Web Sockets is for May.

Let's establish what sorts of procedures this "point person" needs to be
able to do in a timely manner:
( before we start )
1. Be able to assess Moz To resources. (equipment, time, snacks?, other
inner office logistics)
2. Be able to assess the content being planned (we don't don't want our
expert to show up with no demos or slides or just wing it)
3. Be able to assess our "expert" (The expert needs to be able to engage
and teach the hackathon goers)
( once approved )
4. Be able to setup a meetup event so people can rsvp (figure out if we are
getting over capacity)
5. Be able to post and engage the Toronto software community about the event
( once done )
6. Be able to do a retrospective of the event and post it somewhere.
These are the ones that come up off the top of my head.
If there are more pls add them to the list.

Well don't forget that we are collaborative. The community at large can
cover these areas and the point person is just the one that keeps it all
organized and goes between the guest.

I go through Mari and Hilary for these things. Hilary says she should have
more time for us soon.

This one is definitely in the territory of the point person, to discuss
with the guest.

Anyone can do this on meetup, I can add more people as admins to the
facebook areas and I'm about to set up an eventbrite section for us. If
nothing else I can always post the events.

I agree that this should be the point person directly, though it's also
good if the rest of us tweet, or if we have enough to say blog about it as
well. The point person should be obligated though (but they can get help!)
