Hello folks,

In late January 2013, Shane Stephens from Google and I are running a
Browser Miniconf at linux.conf.au, which this year is in Canberra,
Australia.

Shane and I proposed the event to provide an opportunity for browse
hackers to get together as a community, regardless of the particular
browser that they work on. This is the second year that the miniconf has
been run - last year we had around 70 participants and discussed topics
as varied as vendor namespaces and javascript media streams.

If you'd like to attend this event, you'll need to register for
linux.conf.au (http://linux.conf.au/).

If you would like to come and give a talk, please check out our Call for
Papers: http://mcc.id.au/BrowserMiniconf/LCA2013/CallForPapers. We're
welcoming submissions on essentially any browser-related topic. The
deadline for submissions is November 30.

(Please note that unlike presentations during the main conference,
people speaking only at the miniconf do not get their attendance fees
waived. Sorry, nothing we can do about that!)

We already have a few Google and WebKit people who've registered their
interest in speaking, so it'd be great to get some Mozilla voices in
there too.

If you have any questions let me know.

Thanks,

Cameron

Cameron,

If you haven't you might consider informing John Allsopp, who has always
been supportive of browser-developer speakers at his Web Directions
events. We might ask John to help promote the Miniconf.

Great idea, Gen; I'll pass on some info to him and see if he'd be
willing to promote it.
