Hi everyone!
We talked last time about some issues and challenges facing us as a
community and Rami pointed out the lack of interaction with people outside
the community (ie. fans on Facebook, followers on Twitter, readers/visitors
on the website). As part of the solution, I figured we can use
approximately the same concept as the famous "Bonjour Mozilla"
http://www.bonjourmozilla.fr/ How ?
What I mean by this is that people need to know us, to put a face on the
people behind "Arabic Mozilla", it's way easier to connect to human beings
you "know" (or you know a bit about) than to an unknown person posting
stuff on Facebook/Twitter... After all, Mozilla is all about community, and
I don't know about you but don't feel this when opening our ArabicMozilla
website.
I know we're planning to do videos (great idea Rami had), but I think it
would be more simple and it would take less time to start by this : a
picture of each one of us (except Anas of course :D), one at a time, few
lines about him/her in Arabic/English/French and his/her role in the
community... published on the website under a specific category (yet to be
named) and posted on social media channels (in a specific album for
example?).
This won't solve the problem entirely or by magic, of course, but what do
you think? I'm sure this can help us create a deeper feeling of belonging
for our community. Maybe we can even better the idea together.
Waiting for your feedback!
Regards,
Majda
P.S. Of course, the idea is not to do a copycat of Bonjour Mozilla. What
I'm talking about is a category within our website to get people
(especially in the Arabic region) to know more about us and the work we do,
and be more excited to join ;)
