Whenever I view emails in a list, I like to see the most recent ones
at the top and the oldest ones at the bottom, which is the reverse of
the default sequence in Thunderbird. When the list is displayed I
can, of course, click on the Date column heading to reverse the
sequence, but I find myself having to do this constantly.

It would be really nice if there was a preference setting where you
could specify the default sort sequence as 'Newest at the top' or
'Oldest at the top'.

Is there any chance of implementing that?

Thanks, Martin

It should remember your choice.  Mine does.  Try click on View, Sort By, and make sure Descending is selected.
