Sync encountered an error while syncing: Unknown error.

Hey!
Since i updated to FF 4.0, i get once in a while the error message
"Sync encountered an error while syncing: Unknown error."
This is what the log tells me:
1303731557953 Service.Main INFO Updating enabled engines: 5 clients.
1303731557957 Engine.Bookmarks INFO 0 outgoing items pre-reconciliation

Is it possible to sync three computers with different settings?

Hello,
I have two PCs running Windows 7 HP 64bit and one Mac at work. Firefox 4
is running on all of these devices.
I would like to set up Sync that the two Firefox installations on the
PCs running Windows 7 are exactly the same. They should sync everything.
The Mac at work should only sync tabs and history with both of them.

FF 3.6 issues?

My FF 3.6 at work can no longer log in to my account
("Fehler bei Anmeldung")
since a few days.
I'm using DolphinHd with my own implementation
(supporting all versions), Minefield (development-laptop)
and an FF4-stable (netbook).
Has there been some incompatible
change of protocol again that throws
out old clients without warning or choice

If i run the tests in the sync server i get:

Please enter a password: test
Get collection timestamps...NOT OK

How to decrypt payloads ?

Hello,
I'm trying to use the Sync API but i can't figure how to decrypt payloads,
any hints on how to do this ? (I'm using ruby)
I've tryied to read the docs but the crypto parts seems outdated and doesn't
helped me.

remove unused devices

Hello,
how do I manage the list of devices?
My "tabs from other computers" is pretty clogged
with devices that I no longer have (e.g. About 30
Android emulators that I used during development).
Is there a way to manage and remove devices
from /client and /tabs in any of the Firefox clients
or on the server? Some kind of manage-my-account

Sorry, what I wrote was very confusing.
I ended up with a garbled bookmark file, with a good third of the bookmarks
definitly lost, including the bookmarks toolbar. Sync promptly pushed it
everywhere, so all my machine ended up with an empty toolbar.
Then I restored through the most recent valid copy I had on all machines,

the mailing list setup, and getting off Google Groups as our primary
provider. These groups will become read-only shortly, and we'll split
development/planning discussion off from support, and move support
questions to be a part of SUMO, in preparation for Firefox 4.

That's the workaround. The fix is bug 629463 (better deal with busted
records)

So the fix for bug 637258<[link]>might be to a Reset Sync and
*replace the local data with the server data*? (And accept that the server
data might be a bit outdated (if the error means that "something" wasn't
being synced).

I cleansed the machine *from* which I synced, of course (Reset Sync /
Replace all data on *other* machines).
I moved it to the right place and left an action item for you.
Action taken (correct log now attached to bug 637258<[link]>).
Then why does sync bring up this error dialog ever time?

That's why we suggest the much more surgical process of:
• Turn on logging
• Attach the log to a bug
• Look at log contents to determine the cause
• Fix the root cause.
