I came home from work today, and noticed that Weave did not sync ANY of my history from earlier in the day. Anyone else experiencing this issue? I'm running Weave 1.0.
yes, i'm having the same problem. it was working very well. i had some bookmark sorting problems, but that seemed pretty basic. and, i've told a bunch of people how great it is, and they are wondering what i've been smoking. i was on 1.0 and tried 1.0.1. same problems. i'm considering creating a new account because i wonder if the server data is corrupt. everything in the log says it should be working. on one machine, i completely removed firefox, prefs, etc.

I'm having the same problem here. Since the last update, my desktop and laptop no longer sync. History, bookmarks, passwords, nothing. Everything looks fine in the log, just nothing is happening. I've tried both ways, just no updates.
I tried starting over, having the desktop overwrite the cloud, then having the cloud overwrite the laptop. No luck there either.
I even tried uninstalling weave on the laptop and deleting the weave folder in the Firefox profile. Still no luck.
Based on the large amount of threads about the issue here - Why people feel compelled to make a new post where a reply could suffice, I don't know - I'd say there's a problem server-side. Just give Mozilla Labs some patience, and we'll find our computers magically start syncing again in a week or so.

I wanted to do a clean install of firefox on my desktop and because weave is not doing anything it is still clean :-( no bookmaarks, passwords, history nothing. The log file only shows success.

Actually Stephen, based on the fact that there has been, as far as I can tell, *no* response from Mozilla acknowledging the problem, it is perfectly appropriate for people to keep posting. And again, if I am not mistaken, someone from mozilla has responded to another thread since this has been happening. So it appears that so far they are ignoring the public outcry. When that happens, the usual recourse is to scream louder, not just sit quietly. Honestly, I am surprised *more* people aren't complaining. I wonder, how many people are actually using weave?

Well, this group is sadly not as popular as it should be. I'm not arguing against complaining - I actually agree - It's just that I find a single topic with 50 people saying "Me too!" carries more weight than 20 topics with aprox 3 people per topic - Because in the first example, the number of messages in thread shows up every time it's bumped. This one's reading 9 right now, whereas there are actually 22 posts about the issue. Larger numbers carry mroe weight, IMHO.
Also, due to the fact that I just installed Windows 7 today, this outage is quite inconvenient timing.

have you tried setting up your own weave server? if it works, i may give it a whirl, too. for years i have not used bookmarks in firefox because i hated switching computers and not having them. i used to store them (tediously) in a wiki. i know there are extensions or plug-ins or add-ins that could help.
when i first started using weave, it was not 1.0 software. i expected problems. when it got to 1.0, i assumed it would have some stability. that assumption things gets you every time.
and, finally, i agree that a little acknowledgment about the problem would be helpful.

I thought I did reply, was kind of stunned when I could not find my post in the same thread... (hmm I should not be using computers if I do not know how to use them :-) )
Thank you for your reply, will wait for the fine people of mozilla labs. (as I am in the process of re-installing my web/mai/ftp server)

A common mistake is to take the screamers for the majority and gloss over the fact that more people are not complaining, instead of interpreting it as a sign that the program make actually be working for them. The problem with this thread and its cousins is the almost total lack of anything approaching usable information. Yelling, me too, does little or nothing to work towards a solution. At a minimum the information provided should be OS on systems involved, Weave versions on systems involved, relevant log entries. I belong to many lists that deal with software and this one is notable for the ratio of noise:signal. It is a testament to the folks at Mozilla that they actually do solve problems given the lack of information.
It's not a system-wide problem, I've just tested with my own account, and re-verified some recent changes that were made in the back end. I also don't see anything untoward in the error logs.
Given that, I doubt the issue is server-side, and we'll need some information from the client side to do any diagnosis.
I see that jimbryantboulder and patrick.ehlen have posted log snippets that show a problem in Clients.getClients(). I'll have to leave that for one of the client guys to comment on that.
For the rest of you who have reported problems, the following information would help quite a bit:
- Weave version - OS and version - Client Logs
To get the client logs, first choose 'Sync Now' from the Weave menu. When it completes, choose 'Activity Log' and email the portion of the log with timestamps in the last minute or so. Here's a sample of a normal sync:

With that information, we should be able to pin the problem down.

Having same issues as everyone else. and Sync is going through the motions but does nothing.
Only just upgraded to Version 1.0.1, but cnat be sure if that i the cause as i had not used my other laptop for a number of weeks.
Anyway, i have tried virtually everything everyone else has e.g. setting up a new account, deleting all info etc and even tried 1.1pre1 version still no joy.
Will post activity log tommorow when i get a chance.

The syncing doesnt work here too :s it's weird because it always had worked, but now this weekend i noticed that the bookmarks i made in the week didn't synced to my laptop I think version 1.1pre1 has caused this, not sure, because it worked before.. I didn't test the 1.0.1 yet (which I know is a more recent version because you changed the versionnumber back to a lower one, but it still didn't come to the auto-update)

I had just noticed the problem on ALL my machines... three win7 and one kubuntu 9.10 and none showed any "error" lines in the log, so I thought it had to be at the server side. every one is running firefox 3.6 with weave 1.0.1
Hope this helps: (from one of the win7 machines)
