Hotmail

This version of Firefox does not work well with Hotmail. My email
jumps back and forth between the mail and the in-box for a while
before it settles down to the individual mail. Then it will jump from
the lower portions of the mail back to the top on it's own. It is very
frustrating. I have been using Google Chrome for my mail and then as I
move around the internet, instead of closing google I have been using
it ti get around. Used to be I would use only Firefox, but not any
more.

I think its a very interesting, dynamic and iterative time for all I.E, Mozilla, Chrome & Safari...akin to a browser war! Each of them has an issue. I use 3 browsers. Mozilla for most things but not for Yahoo and Hotmail. Safari really has no main issues, but changes the look of my fav online app. I.E crashes all others and freezes the screen if they are open at the same time (I'm sure there's something in I.E that identifies other open browsers and kills the joy)... I wish Mozilla's be more stable with yahoo cause thats my default... so you never know who'll win this one...

Interesting. I have IE 8, Firefox 3.6.13, Firefox 4.0 beta 11, Google
Chrome 10, Opera 11 and Safari 5 here (plus a few other browsers as
well.) I use Firefox as my "production" browser, with the others for
occasional testing. I've had IE, Firefox, Chrome, and Opera all open
at once with no problems. IE certainly hasn't shut any of them down.
(I run WinXP SP3 with current patches, in a box with 3GB of RAM.)

I've never used Hotmail, so that's not an issue here. I have a Yahoo
account, but seldom use it. What sort of problems do you have with
Yahoo?

I noticed that the ads in the side panes of yahoo tend to act
differently with mozilla than with other browsers. End result is they
occassionally cause freezing of the browser when yahoo is open. I've
taken time to test and observe it, and I believe mozilla needs to fix it.

Possible causes:
1. Perhaps refresh engine for changing the ad is timed and heavy to load.

2. Maybe other browsers arent timed to change till the user clicks on
a link within yahoo, rather mozilla may have its timed at intervals even
 when user is simply typing an email, so the impact is that it causes the pane to freeze
which till ad-change is complete, thereby complicating and compromizing the entire functioning of the browser.

My observation... but may be wrong.

I use chrome for most of my stuff but it likes to jump around when I
try logging into some sites. Sometimes while it is loading I will be
trying to click a link and it jumps and I end up clicking an ad or
banner. I tried using opera and it seemed to lag a bit. Firefox is not
too bad at ether of those issues.

I have somewhat similar issue, hotmail starts refreshing the page and
does that for ever.

I too am finding this problem after install about 20 minuites ago. I
am useing windows live mail untill its fix..

I always use hotmail from firefox browser so if my compiuter gets
stolen they "can not" (kinda) get my email history to quick.
