Something has happened to most of my Persona's Description fields. I
frequently use this " & " sign instead of the word "and" to save on
spaces. Everywhere that I've used this sign it now appears like
this: &
Also everywhere I use quotation marks, they have been replaced by some
signs that I can't reproduce in this font.
Here is a link to one of my Personas that has both problems in its
description field.
I know that there was at least 1.5 hours of down time earlier today.
Are these changes in my Description Fields (and probably other
people's also!) one of the results of that downtime?

When you click on edit, all that appears is a blank page.
Its not only the standard HTML encoded characters (e.g. & ' ") that are not displayed properly - perhaps more worryingly for Mozilla is that Chinese characters are not being displayed properly either. BTW the issue with incorrectly encoded characters is only in the description, the title is fine.

isn't the personas site currently undergoing maintenance?

Hi Danial, It was due to have downtime yesterday for maintenance. As Collie said, this is most likely a result of changes that were made during the downtime.

G'morning all,
CollieSmile brought this problem to my attention too
with one of my personas. I tried to edit it a little while
ago and am unable to do so.
Changes were made, as Fluffy, pointed out but I don't
think these are the final changes. I feel work is still
being done.
Deb should be online shortly to bring us up to speed. :)

Thanks for pointing this out -- there appears to be a problem caused by the server changes that were made yesterday. I'll file a bug and see about getting this sorted out.

I, too tried to edit a design last night and still am unable to. And I
think after it is fixed I may not have to edit it as it was a link to
a wallpaper I had put in the detail that needed editing! So maybe the
fix will do the editing for me!

Hi Collie, The description is a separate bug. I looked at the bug report this morning and they have looked into the bug but it seems like they're trying to decide which is the best way to fix it. Its priority is "normal" whereas the editing bug was marked as more important so they fixed it first.

Yep, there are a couple of bugs to deal with different description field issues. We have some people looking into it and hopefully it will be sorted out soon.

It seems they are working on fixing the display of Chinese & Japanese character sets first and will then look at the rest of the elements that are not displaying properly. However, they have marked the Chinese/Japanese characters bug as fixed but those characters are still not displaying for me!

I just read the bug report that you gave the link to. I am surprised
that the status of this bug is still officially "normal." (I'm glad
that in the report Deb mentioned that it was pretty important.)
Anyway, I think the problem should be upgraded to "major." I've had
to explain to many people why my Description Fields look so weird. I
thought that they would have had it fixed by now.
This problem must be even worse for people who use Chinese characters
or other "different alphabet" languages. At least if your language
uses the standard alphabet, people can "read around" the odd symbols.
