Firebug post 1.4.0 is not fully compatible with Jetpack 0.7

I am aware that efforts have been made to get Jetpack working nicely
with Firebug (notably http://hg.mozilla.org/labs/jetpack/rev/e3fea7d93898)
but these fixes don't appear to address what to me is an issue that
makes using any version of Firebug post 1.4.0 useless for debugging
Jetpack.

The issue is with console.log. It works fine in the about:jetpack tab
but if you switch to another tab to do some ‘real’ debugging,
console.log stops doing anything. Even if you switch back to the
about:jetpack tab, you need to reload the tab before console.log
starts working again. This works as expected if using versions of
Firebug up to version 1.4.0.

For now I will stick to 1.4.0
