No, this is not an ad for a used desk, its a job post ! :)
We at Sosign are very excited to announce that we are expending our
team and are looking for talented people who just thrive on having
cool, cutting edge challenges and working with likeminded people.
Sosign is a Social Commerce startup located in the heart of Montreal's
old port. Bright office, lots of sun, big windows overlooking onto
Notre-Dame street. Check out
www.sosign.com,
www.brandicted.com to
learn more on what we do.
So come lets have a chat. But, before you do that, here is the break down.
what you get:
* 70k+ and/or equity
* vacations, day offs...standard deal
* non-standard deals (experimental) fridays off.
* good beer on the house !
* possibility of working remotely
* we are open to discuss any other form of compensation
what we need:
* python
* web frameworks (pyramid, django, tornado, etc)
* MySQL, NoSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB
* Agile, TDD, mercurial, *nix shell
* JavaScript (Ember.js, Backbone.js)
* CSS, HTML, HTML5, Twitter Bootstrap
* REST services, MVC pattern, etc
* other (yes, we are open-minded)
two ways to apply:
1. boring way: send us your resume and/or show us your work
(bitbucket, github, zip file)
2. fun way: write a web application using as much of the techno listed
above as you can to output your resume !t your resume!
For example I might write a REST service which will do:
GET /resume - this will return your resume in full in HTML
GET /resume/job_history?start_date=20040101 - this will return the job
description and your title and experience for a given date
GET /resume/hobbies - returns hobbies
POST /resume/job_history - this will create another entry in your resume.
etc..etc.. you get the point.
Improvise, but also keep in mind, what we want to see is how you
think, how you structure your code, how you honor code standards...and
obviously we are anxious for you to get on board ASAP.
The deliverable could be on the bitbucket (preferred) , github, zip
or any other ways. It must be an installable python egg so it will be
possible to do:
* python setup.py install
* inizialize.db.some.how
* run.my.server config.ini
and your server should be up and running and serving your resume.
Obviously , if your project doesnt work, then we cant really read your resume !
good luck.
