Le hackathon de Montréal Ouvert

Bonjour Tous,

Le 19 novembre prochain, Montréal Ouvert organise un hackathon sur tout ce qui est accès aux donnés civiques dans la région Montréalaise (http://montrealouvert.net/2011/10/13/hackathon-donnees-ouvertes-montreal/). On c'était dit qu'il faudrait y aller en force comme groupe Montréal-Python pour y donner un coup de main! Donc on organise quelques équipes dans le but de mijoter avant sur des idées pour arriver la journée même avec des projects spécifique en tête qu'on peut commencer à travailler ensemble dès le début de la journée.

On a discuté un peu avec Simon Pierre, un des organisateurs, et il avait quelques idées de projets déjà qui pourrais nous intéresser, incluant:

* Catalogue indexée sur le web de tous les sources de donnés portant sur la ville, spécifié par format, license, etc.

* Application à la reddit pour ramasser et voter sur différentes idées portant sur l'accès au donnés, de sorte d'identifier quel sources de donnés et projets intéresse la communauté.

* Web-scraper pour différents site web de la ville.

Hello All,

On the 19th of November, Montreal Ouvert is organising a hackathon on all that is open access to civic information in Montréal (http://montrealouvert.net/2011/10/13/hackathon-donnees-ouvertes-montreal/?lang=en). We were thinking that Montreal Python should show up in force to lend a hand! So, we are organising a few teams to brain-storm on ideas so that we can arrive at the hackathon ready with good projects we can hit the ground running with.

We talked a bit with Simon Pierre, one of the organisers, and he had a few ideas that could interest us, namely:

* Web-based searchable catalogue of data sources available for the city, indexed by data format, license, etc.
* Reddit-like application to help them collect and vote on open access ideas, in order to find out what data sources and organisations interest the community.
* Web scrapers for different web sites run by the city.

The list is far from exclusive, so if you have an idea you would like to champion, please share it with us!

Pour ce qui est du scraping de sites web, j'ai trouve que https://scraperwiki.com/ est une excellente ressource. Deja la plupart des projets la-dessus sont relies au gouvernement ouvert, ce serait interessant d'avoir une presence montrealaise aussi.
