...have experience with version control (SVN, CVS, ClearCase, etc.)
...understand standard design patterns (hint: we’ll ask you about
“Gang of Four”)
...be self-starters, and have proof of productivity (open source
contributions, for example)
...be problem solvers and quick learners – this is a must!

...experience with Ajax and JavaScript (working with JQuery or
Prototype, for example)
...experience with Agile development methodologies
...strong communication skills
...academic qualifications (computer science, software engineering,
etc.)... but self-taught is ok too!
