About our company:

We are a small privately funded startup with one big idea. We are
currently looking for talent to join our small team. We are located
downtown Montreal.

About you:

- Well-versed in web application development (backend and frontend)
with between 3-5 years of experience working with technologies such as
PHP, Apache, RoR, MySQL, etc...
- A minimum of 1 year of experience with RoR is needed.
- Self-motivated, team player, takes initiative, innovative and
looking to make an impact
- Social media/network enthusiast
- Broad technical competence
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to work on different aspect of a web application
- Ability to understand the business impact of technical decisions
- Good communication skills
- Excited to work in a startup environment
- Experience developing in the context of social network a plus

Qualifications:

- Bachelor in computer science or any other pertinent training;
- Experience in engineering high-volume, consumer-facing web sites
- Rails, MySQL 5, PHP, CSS, and Linux
- JavaScript, JQuery
- MySQL
- Familiar with GIT or Subversion
- Experience with the Scrum framework would be considered a plus
- Experience with social network API a plus (facebook, twitter, etc…)

As a RoR developer, you will have the following responsibilities:

- Work with the product manager, UI designer, QA, and other developers
to design, implement, document, and test the multi-tiered web-based
application
- Work on all layers of our web application from front-end CSS, server
side coding to database development
- Troubleshoot and resolve complicated and business-critical technical
issues related to function, performance, and security
- Integrate with third-party web services and data sources
- Implement automated tests
- Build tools to automate repetitive tasks
