The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will hold four public
meetings as part of the process to adopt new Digital Flood Insurance
Rate Maps and Flood Insurance Studies prepared by FEMA and its mapping
contractors for communities in Rutland and Washington Counties.
The purpose of the meetings will be to review the new maps and
discuss the process for their adoption. We have copies of the proposed
maps here in the Planning Department, and copies will be made available
at the meeting. They will review changes in floodplain mapping and
describe what we need to do as a community to ensure continued
participation in the National Flood Insurance Program.
The Washington County meeting will be held on Wednesday, July
25 at 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm at the Waterbury State Office Complex in
Waterbury, VT. It will be in the Skylight Conference Room, located on
the first floor of the North Connector Building of the Agency of Human
Services.
If you have questions about this meeting, please contact David
Mendelsohn, FEMA Region 1 at
617-832-4713. For further information
