How to use pipeline operator $out

I use the pipeline $out operator, got the following error message.

{ ok: 0,
errmsg: 'Pipeline::run(): unrecognized pipeline op "$out' }


Any problem about my use method ?

pipeline: [{$out: "output_collection_name"}]
