This is currently not possible, however, please have a look at theJIRA
feature requests for upcoming versons as it covers the authentication
changes planned for 2.3/2.4:

As you are specifically referring to local authentication, the ticket below
is probably the closest to your specific request. Can you please update it
with your request and vote for the feature.
