Parameter for memory usage in mongo

Hello,

We have mongo db setup on ETL server.What this means is that mongo
runs and shares resources with other ETL services (JBOSS,KETTLE,ACTIVE
MQ) on the same server.I would like to know if there is any parameter
in the instance that can be set so that mongo doesnot use more the
memory allocated to it?

For eg we have 96 gb ram on the server i want mongo to use only 75gb.

I have an idea that I have not tried.

Run MongoDB as a unique user like "mongo" and then limit that user to
a smaller set of resources.

The MongoDB running as mongo will then use only what you "allow" that
user to acquire as resources.

If you try this out, I would love to hear back on this thread. It
would be nice to have a LAMP server where the "M" is MongoDB.
