Hi,

Trying to install on win 7 64 bit followingsteps below but getting 'is not recognized as an internal or external command". Any idea?

Note - doc says extract will have folder name "mongodb-win32-x86_64-2.2.0" but my download had 'mongodb-osx-x86_64-2.2.0".

Hi,

It looks like you have accidentally downloaded the OS X version.  The correct version you want for Windows 7 64-bit is the 2008+ download from: http://www.mongodb.org/downloads

Cheers,
Stephen

I have the wins version running now. what is the difference between mongod.exe and mongo.exe?

mongod.exe - server instance listening for db requests. right?

mongo.exe - client instance that submits request to server. right?

That's correct - mongo is the interactive shell which you can type in commands (and Javascript) into.
mongod is the server.
