Hi gana,

The newer releases of MongoDB-Hadoop allow streaming support in Python, Ruby and Javascript.

This allows you to write your mapreduce queries using any of those three languages. You will still have to build the driver with Java (http://api.mongodb.org/hadoop/Building+the+Adapter.html) using the SBT build tool.

You can use Hadoop with Python, you will just need to have java running on your computer to install the Adapter (here: https://github.com/mongodb/mongo-hadoop/

Hope that helps.

Hi All,
I am new to MongoDb also to Hadoop.
I searched in the net for steps to integrate hadoop with mongoDB but was not that helpful.
Is hadoop only java based? I currently have application (in python) fetching and updating single instance of mongoDB.
Since my DB size could be 1TB and my quarries search entire DB and does lot of computation...so thought of using Hadoop on top of mongoDB...

can you please help me on the same? If possible an example of how to use the adapter would be of great help.
Thanks in Advance
Gana
