MongoDb on Azure IaaS versus PaaS

Could someone share any information/resources comparing the hosting of MongoDb on Azure in IaaS mode versus PaaS mode? Aspects could include cost, scale, ease of development & deployment etc.

I prefer Iaas to Saas.
Because, on Saas,
・Sharding is not supported.
・I don't want to use Azure Storage for dbpath directory. Local Storage
is only used for cache.
・I cannot use mongo-azure efficiently. https://github.com/mongodb/mongo-azure
