Subject: unable to run mongod on custom Linux

I've a device, which is running with linux kernel version 2.6. I've copied
Linux 32 bit binaries of mongodb into /usr/local/bin. When I run mongod I
get following output

./mongod: line 1: syntax error: unexpected "("

Can anyone tell me What could be the problem?

This looks like your mongod is a text file.
At least in all of my installations this is a binary.
Could you please give us the output of "stat /usr/local/bin/mongod". Please adjust the path to the
mongod file according to your installation.
Also which hardware platform are you using for your mongod and did you just copy the binaries? I am
pretty certain that copying just the binaries would not work anyway.

Regards,
Reno
