Perhpas it's a FAQ but... where is the right discussion group?
AFAIK there are 2 driver: mongodb-csharp (samus?) and mongo-csharp-driver (10gen).
On this forum (mongodb-csharp@google) do we discuss about both drivers or only about the first?

Please forgive me if this is the wrong group.  I'm still not 100%
clear on which group is for the Samus C# driver and which is for the
10gen driver.

This group is really for the original (and unofficial) mongodb-csharp driver.  I don't think anyone will bite off a person's head for posting a question about the official driver here.  I just wouldn't count on it being monitored as closely as the mongodb-user group.

so what are the plans for the driver? now that the official driver is pretty solid in terms of BSON and Connection handling, but not as pretty with regards to LINQ and typed support, would you think to have a wrapped (mongoid style) for the official driver instead of maintaining core features here?

It's true that the 10gen C# driver will not have full LINQ support in
version 1.0. Once 1.0 is out we will figure out how to best address
that.

The support for serializing C# types is quite complete though. Feel
free to submit any JIRA requests for features you feel are missing.
Better now than after 1.0 is released!

We can address Linq in a seperate library. I have ported this (the
unnoficial) driver's linq provider to work against the official
driver. You can see that work here (https://github.com/craiggwilson/
fluent-mongo). I am happy to change the name to something more
related to a contrib type of library (MefContrib, MVCContrib, etc...).

I'm asking for some extension points in the official driver to
implement some other useful features like change tracking and batch
mode such that communication can be more efficient.
