Yo,

The misc utils fixes are now up on CPAN

... and all the server work is now up on CPAN. It might not be 100% bug
free, but I've been pounding on it all weekend, and code that was very
close to this was kicked silly by typepad and livejournal.

In addition to the patches originally posted to the list, the delete
worker has been rewritten to use the new queue system. If you do a lot of
replications and deletes (file overwrites/etc), this release will probably
have a huge impact for you.

http://search.cpan.org/~dormando/mogilefs-server/

... will show up once the CPAN indexer gets around to the sync.

please report any bugs, ideas, etc.

the next release will have drain/rebalance rewritten, but I need to poll
the list for some ideas there.

have fun,

Is this the proper synteax to use in a conf file for the new
no_unreachable_tracking?

...
old_repl_compat 0
no_unreachable_tracking 1
...

If I have everything on 2.30, I can/should use both of those as above,
yes?

Any other exciting config parameters we should be using in a 2.30
system?

Thanks.

Yeah.

2.30 actually flips the defaults for those values. So you don't
necessarily need to specify them in your configuration. old repl is
disabled and unreachable tracking is disabled.

The other exctiting config parameters are ... existing ones I guess. run
`!want 100 replicate` and watch it not crash everything anymore.

Are there any incompatibilities if I upgrade from Mogile 2.20 to Mogile 2.30 ???

you need to run the schema upgrades. Otherwise it's backwards compatible.

Thanks.

Related to this, I noticed that on line 132 of Config.pm there is the
debug output but I am wondering if we can have a command line option
to output the final values of all the config variables at the end of
the config setup after defaults are applied, etc; This would be
helpful to have when people post questions/help requests, they could
include the output from mogilefsd --show_config with their question/
post

Then you wouldn't have issues like where you were wondering about that
typo in a recent thread:
> By any odd chance, do you literally have "old_repl_comat" set in your

Yeah, that's a good idea.

basically I wanted to rewrite all of Mogilefs::Config. It sucks pretty
hard. I shelved it for another release, but that feature would definitely
show up.

One minor gotcha if you were running SVN versions is that the primary
key on the new file_to_queue table changed during it's development.
The final version is on (fid, type).
