Fresh from leading a tour to Buenos Aires and establishing a new school for tango,  Marcelo Solis, a judge for the USA branch of the Argentine Tango World Cup, is returning to Modesto.

      Specializing in the traditional music of the '30s and '40s,  Solis teaches the style of Buenos Aires dance halls, not showy stage tango but focusing on the connection between partners and music - exercises and explanations that convey tango fundamentals.

       He has taught and performed in Argentina, USA, Canada and Europe. Currently based in San Francisco, he returns to his native Buenos Aires several times a year to teach and perform.

   Solis was a finalist in the 1994 Argentine national traditional stage championship and 2010 salon dance style in Buenos Aires.

   Modesto Tango is a non-profit association dedicated to sharing artistic, cultural and social aspects of Argentine tango.
