ModelSim student edition installation problem

Hello,

I am trying to install modelsim student edition. I downloaded the .exe
file. but when i run it i can see some process of unzipping starts.
but thats it. nothing happens beyond that point. also i did nt get any
email for licence key. when i check in the task manager there is a
modelsim process running.
i am trying it on 64bit win 7.

I don't have problems installing 32-bit ModelSim Student Edition on my
Windows 7 system but I have seen others who have this problem and it
seems to be hardware dependent. It is usually the extraction process
that fails not the actual install. You may be able to work around
this problem by using WinZip to extract the modelsim-
pe_student_edition.exe file into a temp directory. Once extracted you
should see a setup.exe file that you can execute to do the actual
install.

It is very difficult to install Modelsim on 64-bit Win7.

I'm not sure if you're talking about the webPack or not, but the
workaround for the WebPack is the following:

1. Downolad the .tar file
2. Unrar it
3. goto the extracted folder\webpack\lib\nt
4. copy all the files
5. goto extracted folder\webpack\bin\nt
6. paste the files
7. add an environment variable called Xilinx and put in the C:\Xilinx
8. Create the folder Xilinx in C
9. Install

Should work mostly fine after that.

    I am having difficulty installing modelsim on Win7 64. I have tried all of the above so far, and nothing works.
